I believe in simplicity. Keeping IT systems simple makes them easier to understand & means there are less things to go wrong.
I also believe content is the basis of all communication - what you say is more important than how you say it.
I work for small businesses that have anything between 1 and around 20 users. I also work in the homes of people who are employed in those businesses.
I work on Windows & Mac's, mobile phones, tablets, laptops etc. On networks, internet, e-mail, Word, Excel & everything that runs a firms IT systems - but I don't know everything - so sometimes I need help from your software supplier (Sage, business specific software packages etc).
I am good at hardware and software solutions. My specialism is Windows networks - which is the area Microsoft trained me in.
My chief skill is in problem solving, but I do also put a lot of effort in trying to make sure my clients understand their IT system themselves. Translating technical knowledge into a language the end user understands, is something I work really hard at.
I am skilled at keeping old IT systems running.
I am a sole trader with low overheads that means I can keep my costs low.
I think we should all be able to run an IT system that we understand & isn't expensive to maintain.
IT support companies should be there to benefit the business, not the other way around. I do not endeavour to be involved in your business, merely to facilitate it.
My work area covers broadly the following region:
Exeter, Tiverton, Okehampton, Exmouth, Honiton, Crediton, Teignmouth, Newton Abbot
Business charges are £55 + VAT per hour onsite or £45 + VAT for remote support. The daily rate is £330 + VAT per day
Domestic rates are £45 + VAT per hour onsite and remote
Business contracts are £15 + VAT per workstation per month (starting at minimum cost of £75 + VAT or £750 + VAT per annum - 12 months for the cost of 10).
Domestic contracts are available at £199 per annum per PC.
My strong point is being able to quickly identify problems and produce fixes that are cost effective and long lasting.
